Sticking on a Pale Ale train of thought, I followed he Odell with the bottle of Blue Heron. Now it had a tough act to follow after the 5 Barrel special and whilst it couldn't quite match it, it still delivered Pale Ale with gusto. Slightly paler in colour and body it reminded me mostly of Brooklyn lager (which is the heaviest hopped lager I know - and love)

The Daddy I had 2 bottles set aside for over Christmas, boy (4.5 year) smashed one playing football in the kitchen, poor mite nearly hit the roof when the bottle smashed. I've told him its coming out of his pocket money (he doesn't get pocket money yet!!!) So this one bottle was for savouring. My usual Special dealer (hmmm) has been out of stock for a while now, and I'm struggling to source a supplier. So this was kept over Christmas and never opened until I could resist no more.
